Steeped in the traditions of Quebec, LE VENT DU NORD are returning to Newfoundland and Labrador for a series of concerts and workshops. This workshop will focus on the set dance traditions of Quebec taught by LE VENT DU NORD's legendary accordionist/dance caller Benoit Bourque. Music will be provided by the band.
If you still have some energy left after all that dancing, we'll take $2 off the cover charge for Folk Night at the Ship Pub for all workshop participants!

LE VENT DU NORD
This dynamic band from Quebec is comprised of four talented men: Benoit Bourque (accordion, dance calling, vocals), Nicolas Boulerice (Hurdy-gurdy, keyboards, vocals), Olivier Demers (fiddle, feet) and Simon Beaudry (guitar, vocals). Their first CD, Maudite Moisson! won the 2004 JUNO award for Roots/Traditional Album of the Year/group, was nominated at ADISQ 2004 for Traditional Album of the Year award and also was one of the nominees for an OPUS 2004 award for show of the year in the category Jazz and World Music.
Masters of the traditional music of Quebec, they are entertaining and engaging performers who will have you laughing and dancing till you drop!
You can see LE VEND DU NORD in concert at the D.F. Cook Recital Hall in St. John's on May 9th. Tickets are $18 ($15 Student/Senior) and available through the Arts & Culture Centre Box Office at: 729-3900.
