Living Traditions
While we continue to preserve the cultural past we are well aware that artisans are creating traditions at this very moment. Folk art does not mean old art. It means the expression of a unique people in a unique time. There is no greater time than now to live our culture.
This living traditions section will include podcasts, audio files and links to YouTube videos on music, oral recitation, dance and crafts. We welcome your contributions. Share your view of our folk arts!
If you have a video on YouTube or other material that captures the spirit of Newfoundland and Labrador folk music, storytelling , dance or craft, please submit it to office@nlfolk.com for consideration. All participants must sign a limited use agreement to allow us to post your contribution.
Submitted material will be reviewed for quality and content by
the FAS prior to posting on the website. We cannot promise that all content
received will be posted but we do appreciate all contributions !
