SPONSORS

We could not present this festival without the generous support of our public and corporate sponsors.  Our heartfelt thanks goes out to the following.

Public Support:

Department of Canadian Heritage. The Government of Canada contributes through the CANADIAN HERITAGE / ARTS PRESENTATION CANADA, recognizing the part our Festival plays in celebrating the diverse cultures of Canada.

Join us for a St. John's Time - 11 straight days of festivals and fun!  The City of St. John's helps in several ways. The department of Arts and Cultural Development oversees programmes through which we receive operating funds from the City. They allow us to use Bannerman Park and the city staff help make the way smooth.  And they have helped market our festival through the St. John's Time promotions.

Friends of Victoria Park and the Lantern Festival have been active since 1998, when West End St. John’s residents and others concerned about Victoria Park came together in response to the City’s decision to remove the former Victoria Park Pool. In the months that followed, the Friends developed a strategy to turn around their Park. They offer a children’s day camp and a teen program there each summer. Their annual Lantern Festival – an inspiring arts-based celebration of community that attracts crowds of all ages – takes place on the last weekend in July but some of their lanterns also visit Folk Fest each evening.
