Children's Activity Area Schedule
11 am - 5 pm

Please join us in the Neil Murray Stage area for all-ages activities on Saturday and Sunday. In addition to listening to all the great music, how about making some of your own? Or you can have fun doing crafts, creating a personalized souvenir, or getting your face painted. There’s something for everyone! .

Want a Folk Fest souvenir like no other? Well then, come and spend some time with the Crafty Missus – Cara Winsor and her friends. Bring an item to decorate – a bag, a t-shirt, a sun hat – or make a kerchief on the spot. Check out some of the nifty Folk Fest merchandise items on sale this year that are just waiting for your finishing touches.

Clay Instrument-Making Workshop

People have made instruments from all kinds of things – even clay! Come and try your hand at a shaker, drum, flute or whistle. Then come out to the beach at Middle Cove on August 11th to see your creation fired. Led by Jay Kimball of the Craft Council Clay Studio.

Flapping in the Wind
Join the Anna Templeton Centre for a family-friendly workshop suitable for all ages. Have a blast creating colourful flags and banners using a variety of materials and techniques.

Kazoo Zoo!

Dazzle your family and friends with your stupendous musical skill! If you’ve not discovered your instrument yet, this could be it! Led by the Mah-velous Frank Maher and a few friends. BYOK (Bring Your Own Kazoo) please…

Dreamcatchers and Drums
Spend some time with youth from the St. John’s Native Friendship Centre and the Friends of Victoria Park crafting some special items celebrating the aboriginal culture of this Province.
