COME HOME WEEK

July 30th to August 6th 2006 is the St. John’s Folk Arts Council Come-Home-Week!
We’re celebrating the 40th anniversary of the St. John’s Folk Arts Council and the 30th Annual Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Festival with a full week of fun and fabulous activities and you’re invited!

July 30th - Recitation Night at the Crow’s Nest on Duckworth Street
Sponsored by the St. John's Storytelling Circle and the SJFAC. This event was moved outdoors to Harbourside Park as it was a fine evening and since no one had a key to get into the Crow's Nest. Photos are posted here.

August 1 - Session Night
We took over the Masonic Temple on Cathedral St. and filled every nook and cranny with music. There was a slow session, a fast session, a song session, and some spontaneous dancing. Photos are posted here and here.

August 2 - Folk Night at the Ship
Come see the best of Newfoundland and Labrador Folk at our all-night open mic. Starts at 9:30 pm. Cover $5. Photos are posted here and here.

August 3 - Multicultural Night - Gower Street United Church 7:00 - 9:00 pm
Presented by the St. John's Folk Arts Council and the Association for New Canadians. Come enjoy an evening of music and food from all over the world!  Featuring THE FORGOTTEN BOUZOUKI, MAHERS BAHERS and MOPAYA.  Doors open at 6:30 pm, entertainment starts at 7:00 pm. Admission $7.00. August 4-6 - 30th Annual Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Festival
