Fergus Brown-O'Byrne
For many years Fergus has played fiddle, accordion, concertina, tin whistle and tenor banjo at numerous sessions around town as well as many festivals, shows and conventions in Atlantic Canada. Gigs have included the 2002 Juno Awards television broadcast as a session player with GREAT BIG SEA, the Mile One Stadium Pay it Forward concert, the Fiddle of the World Festival in Halifax and at the Art and Culture Centre (with the IRISH DESCENDANTS). He also has hosted and performed for the St. John's Canada Day Celebration since 2003.. |

Susan Hill
Susan (15) has been performing since the age of eight and takes voice and piano lessons. For the past two years, she also has attended the Vinland Music Camp to learn how to play additional instruments. Susan is a member of the Conne River Mi'kmaw Choir and performs at the annual Powwow. She competes at the Kiwanas Music Festival in Grand Falls where she has received numerous awards and has been called back for both "highlights" and "stars" night to perform. In addition to provincial appearances, Susan has performed in Miquelon and in Japan as part of the Threnody Peace Education Music Project. |

Something Unique in Every Place
Something Unique in Every Place is a play about the environment by The Protected Areas Association's (PAA) Green Team. The PAA is a non-governmental not-for-profit organization working to preserve the natural heritage of Newfoundland and Labrador. It takes action to create new wilderness protected areas, protect our province’s endangered species and spaces, and promote sustainable natural resource development. (website) |

Charlotte-Anne Malischewski
Charlotte-Anne (14) has played this festival every year since she was seven. She began playing classical music, soon discovered Newfoundland traditional fiddle music, and now has a keen interest in Klezmer, the music of East European Jews. She has played in Ireland with the Newfoundland Symphony Youth Choir, in Japan with the Newfoundland Symphony Youth Orchestra, and around the province. She also sings in a girls' and a chamber choir. |

Jenna Kelly
Jenna (12) is a resident of Spanish Room on the Burin Peninsula. She enjoys playing different instruments and singing a variety of music. Her performances have included those at national and provincial folk festivals, theatre festivals and sporting events. She is proud to have received the highest mark for the Royal Conservatory of Music Vocal exam (grade three) in the Atlantic provinces in 2004. Jenna recently was interviewed on CBC's Land and Sea to talk about her love of traditional Newfoundland music. |

Born 'N Bred
Genna Putt (piano, voice) and Justin Donovan (fiddle) have been involved in music from an early age and have been playing music for a decade. Both work on Mahoney's Boat Tours in Bay Bulls during the summer, playing music, singing and tour guiding. They 2004 released their first CD, Born 'N Bred, in 2004. This is their second appearance on the Neil Murray Stage. |

The Meyer Girls
Maggie and Jessie live on Bell Island and have been performing for many years at the festival and elsewhere. Maggie (vocals, guitar, mandolin) has been on stage since she was 7 and enjoys writing music. Jessie has played the harp for a long time and enjoys its soothing sound. She also sings and plays the bass. She has been an actor in numerous productions including the Jack meets the Cat show two years ago. |

Vinland Music Camp Youth
Eric is a guitarist, composer, arranger and author from Ladle Cove, Newfoundland. He has composed music for concert, stage, film, radio and TV, and has performed with many of the province's prominent musicians. The Vinland crew are an assortment of students who have attended Eric's annual music school at Killdevil Camp, Lomond, in Gros Morne National Park. (website) |

EvenTide
EVENTIDE is group of four 16-21 year-old musicians from the Burin Peninsula. Michael Rennie, Ryan Baker, and the brother/sister duo of Darrell and
Vanessa Jackman enjoy playing a variety of instruments including button accordion, guitar,
fiddle, bodrhan, mandolin, tin whistle, bass guitar, harmonica and banjo, as
well as singing. EVENTIDE recently released their debut album, Off
the Rocks, recorded at Record Time Productions in St. John's, and have performed at festivals and functions throughout the Burin
Peninsula and the province including Fogo Island, Eastport, Clarenville,
Trinity, Gander, and St. John's. |
