SJFAC Workshops
From Jigs to Django

On Sunday November 14th, the SJFAC held a workshop featuring of Newfoundland's finest solo guitar players: Duane Andrews (with Steve Hussey), Gordon Quinton, and Eric West. Each has a unique approach to arranging Newfoundland traditional tunes and to composing their own original works. Their styles encompass jazz, classical, and folk. For some attendees it was a “dream workshop,” a collection of rare instrumentalists playing to an audience intent on taking in the experience with all senses. The workshop proceeded in the form of a “Tune Circle,” punctuated by information from the musicians – about their instruments, their styles, their influences and their passions.

It doesn’t get any better than that!
