photo by Dave Snow, Wildland ToursThese are interesting times for the Newfoundland & Labrador Folk Arts Council. Our name change from St. John’s Folk Arts Council better reflects our province-wide mission, and we’re about to host the 31 st Annual Newfoundland & Labrador Folk Festival in Bannerman Park.

There’s a new face in the office to go along with the new name – the FAC welcomes Sherry House as its new Executive Director and offers its thanks Erin McArthur for her tireless enthusiasm and the great contribution she’s made to the FAC during her tenure.

I’m in the midst of a busy summer on the road touring Newfoundland & Labrador, and I’m grateful for the contributions and assistance of Layout Wizard Neil Hyde, Marnie Parsons, Mary Ellen Wright, Caroline Clarke, Tom Boland, Jean Hewson, Anita Best, Roger Lockyer, Sherri Kelly, Bridget O’Connell et al.

This edition is clearly Broadside Lite. Look for another, larger edition with festival highlights coming soon.

All the best!
